An Accountant looks after all finance related functions of the company. An Accountant generally has the following tasks:

Records accounts data and provides financial information based on that. These include reports, profit and loss statement, balance sheet etc.

Records financial transactions and recommends financial actions and options

Prepares controls by making policies and procedures and ensures that these are followed

Reconciliation is done with the bank and for any discrepancies that arises

Payments are made after checking all necessary documents

Records the receipt of payments

Compiling with state and local legal requirements by staying updated about all new rules and laws

Oversees audit requirements and helps in carrying out internal and external audits
